The Hunger Games

b002mqyofw-01-lBook # 20: The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins

In response to a rebellion 74 years prior, the country of Panem holds Live televised “Hunger Games” to remind its citizens of the former rebellion and as a way of discouraging future rebellion.  Selected for this fight, Katniss Everdeen represents her district in the Arena.  This is her story of her selection and her fight to kill or be killed.  It is another excursion into fiction.  Though I am not a huge fiction fan, it is a compelling story Katniss struggles with her emotions about the games.  I am not sure where the author is going with the storyline of kids locked into government mandated mortal combat.
